A little bit of background on me,
I'm a dog mum of 4 fur kids, Avalon, Great Dane, 7 years old. Creed, Great Dane, 7 years old, Anarchy, Bullmastiff, 2 years old and lastly Mayhem, Cane Corso X Bandog {a bit of this and a bit of that} 1 years old. I also have 5 human children, however that's enough about the human ones.
I have always had an infinity with dogs, I have always believed they were the best thing that was ever put on this planet, my mission has always been to help as many of them as I can.
How I started my journey to where I am now, I started volunteering for the Animal Welfare League at Wingfield in 2003 then became employed by them, ( they must have liked me). I started off cleaning kennels and from there I rose through the ranks as they say, to eventually become the Behavioural Dog Assessor. I completed my Certificate 4 in Companion Animal Services. I update my knowledge yearly, find out which Positive Reinforcement Trainers are coming to Australia and where they will be so I can attend any conference or lecture. We also have several big groups like Australian Pet Dog Trainers Association and the Pet Professional Guild of Australia who put on a conference yearly to keep us all up to date with our force free methods.
Back to my journey, I joined our team of dog trainers every Saturday in learning puppy classes all the way up to Adult classes. We started expanding our training to include, a recall workshop, loose leash walking workshop and our most popular program was our Reactive Rovers. We ran several of those classes back to back, these became my specialty and I loved every minute of them helping dogs and owners connect and build trust in each other. Unfortunately, the AWL stopped running training classes and after more than 20 years in the sheltering industry, I decided it was time to try something else. I got my break into the doggy daycare world and became the Manager as I soon realised watching dogs playing and living their best lives was a huge boost to my spirits and it made me so happy. I got the dog training side of the business up and running for 18 months every weekend when daycare was closed.
I have now joined the DogFX team and I hope to become just as successful here as I have in my other experiences.
We cater for all dogs, all sizes and all breeds! We run group classes, puppy class and individual training tailoring each to the dogs and humans needs. During the private sessions, I am guided by you and your dog.
I'm looking forward to meeting each and everyone of you and your furry children.
